This is a scary season. Not because Halloween is just around the corner. Our fear comes from the daily tweets threatening to launch a nuclear war against our enemies. It’s not that we’re naïve, for we know that past presidents have dealt with the same enemies. It’s just that their methods toward reconciliation were less combative.

Where do we find peace in this volatile world? We find it in the promise of God, that “…though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh…”. This is a spiritual battle between good and evil, and we have God’s Word that the outcome is in our favor. Therefore, “I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.” (Psalm 4:8)
