It’s graduation time, and students are moving up and out. Millions of students are headed to college to broaden their horizons. If high school taught them how to use punctuation marks, college will teach them what to put between them. It’s a time for punctuating their purpose and expressing their opinions on the subject of LIFE.

We’re sending our Christian students into a sea of challenge, and the greatest challenge will be to hold onto their faith. It won’t be long before they realize it’s a lot easier to live life without faith than with it. Thackeray once said, “It’s not dying for a faith that’s so hard, it’s living up to it.” Notice that Thackeray omitted the exclamation point at the end of his profound statement. Maybe that’s because no one is surprised at anything anymore.

Here’s my challenge to our students; “Be standout Christians!”. This is your chance to shine in the crowd, to demonstrate your convictions, and prove to your heavenly Father that the only time you will break your word is when you use a hyphen to punctuate your purpose!

“Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.” (James 1:12)
